Medium’s Yellow Star. What Does It Mean?
Does it really mean that only paying members can see my story?

I just hit publish on a piece about sea glass and I noticed the little yellow star is not only next to my name on my profile icon, but it showed up on my story. Click on it and it says only Medium Members can view it. Is this right? People who don’t pay the $5/month subscription fee won’t be able to see it as part of their 3 free monthly reads?

A search of the Help page did not yield any productive results. I searched “yellow star”, “what does a yellow star mean”, and various other configurations of the question without success. So I guess, I’m more adding to the already buzzing topic of the yellow star without contributing any new information, except to say that I hope those that aren’t paying customers yet still have access. I get encouragement but denial is a bit much.
What are your thoughts?
