What is it to be known?
To leave a void?
To leave a void in space once occupied?
Spaces within family, loved ones, friends, co-workers?

This begs attention to other — of relationship,
sound bouncing around in empty space.
Resonance to be felt in waves
as one being acts upon another.
Without listening, words are spewed
- defines a self.

We scant know ourselves.
We are known in the empty space we once filled,
in heart and mind of friend and foe.

I can never truly see my face.
I only know me in reflection,
in image and countenance — in reaction —
in you

Can I reflect you to you?

Can we fill the space with joy?
Leave no stone unturned,
mulled over and studied — but returned to…
